INDUX Global — Industrial Integrity
Investment & Project Development · Project Economics & Scenario Modeling

Test the assumptions before they become commitments.

A useful project model shows what drives revenue, cost, cash and financing needs, and what changes when the assumptions move. The scenario lab is educational and does not represent a live INDUX project or investment recommendation.

Each section explains the problem, the choices that matter and what it takes to move from planning to implementation.

Decision system

Structure the work around evidence, ownership and the next decision.

A useful project model shows what drives revenue, cost, cash and financing needs, and what changes when the assumptions move. The scenario lab is educational and does not represent a live INDUX project or investment recommendation.

INDUX treats project development as a sequence of decisions rather than a collection of reports. Each workstream should reduce uncertainty, identify the owner of the next action and make it clearer whether the project should advance, change or stop.

Development principle: do not spend the next dollar of development capital until the project team knows which uncertainty that dollar is intended to reduce.

Questions that change the decision

Good diligence is specific enough to expose what is still unknown.

These questions are not a generic checklist. They represent the types of uncertainties that can change project scope, economics, timing, ownership or the willingness of a public or private partner to proceed.

Q1

Which three to five variables explain most of project value?

Q2

How quickly does volume ramp, and what limits utilization?

Q3

Which costs are fixed, variable, indexed or foreign-currency exposed?

Q4

When does CAPEX occur, and how are overruns and contingency treated?

Q5

What financing assumptions materially affect liquidity and coverage?

Q6

Which downside scenarios could cause covenant, liquidity or viability problems?

Model anatomy

Every output should trace back to an operating assumption.

A project model is not valuable because it is complicated. It is valuable when decision-makers can trace revenue, cost, capital and financing outputs back to the physical and commercial drivers that create them.

Value drivers

Find the assumptions that can actually change the answer.

For many projects, a small number of variables explain most of the variation in value: utilization, price, input cost, construction cost, schedule, financing terms and operating reliability. Those variables deserve evidence and explicit downside cases.

Demand

Volume / utilization

How quickly the asset fills and what limits throughput.

Commercial

Price / tariff

Contracted, regulated or market price and escalation rules.

Operating

Variable & fixed cost

Energy, labor, maintenance, logistics and consumables.

Development

CAPEX / schedule

Scope maturity, contingency, long-lead items and delay.

Finance

Debt terms

Tenor, interest, fees, grace periods and covenants.

Reliability

Availability / yield

How performance changes saleable output and maintenance cost.

Adjust the inputs below to see a simplified operating and financing view. It is deliberately incomplete: it excludes taxes, depreciation, working-capital timing, fees, construction draw schedules, reserve accounts, inflation, foreign exchange, ramp-up and many other items required in a real project model.

Education only: this simplified calculator is not a valuation, forecast, investment recommendation, financing term sheet or representation of any INDUX project. Real project finance requires detailed legal, tax, accounting, engineering, commercial and financing analysis.

Sensitivity

Do not ask whether the model works. Ask what breaks it.

A sensitivity view ranks the variables that have the largest effect on liquidity, coverage or returns so diligence effort can focus on the assumptions that matter most.

Utilization / volumeHigh
Sales price / tariffHigh
Construction costMedium-high
Operating costMedium

Interest rateContext-dependent

Illustrative ranking only; sensitivity depends entirely on the project and model structure.

Interpretation

Metrics are signals, not verdicts.

Coverage, margin, payback, IRR or NPV can be useful, but none should be interpreted without contract quality, liquidity, risk allocation, market evidence, financing terms, project life and downside resilience.

Management view

Track the few indicators that show whether the work is becoming more investable.

These are illustrative metric categories. Actual measures depend on sector, project stage, financing and approved project data.

Typical work products

Every deliverable should answer a decision.

INDUX can tailor the depth of work to project stage. The objective is not document volume; it is a controlled package of evidence and analysis that helps stakeholders make the next decision with less ambiguity.
